How the Museum Was Created

The Museum was conceived and planned by the Mendocino County Historical Society.  It was built in 1972 and given to the County to operate as an independent department.  The first director, Herb Pruett, recalls arriving at the Museum to find a front yard entirely made up of mud.  More to come . . . .
