MENDOCINO FLAVORS: Favorites, Traditions, Local Foods
Mendocino Flavors is the Museum's 2nd annual countywide artwork project and follows the fine tradition established with the 1st project: the Why Mendocino? Collage Project. This time the focus is on food.
Mendocino Flavors is a countywide artwork project that asks:
What’s your favorite local food?
What do you grow and gather to eat?
What Mendocino food is special to you?
What foods does your family traditionally eat?
People of all ages in Mendocino County were invited to enter photos, drawings, paintings, poems, letters, prints, fabrics, and collages that picture or describe a “Favorite Food” to the Mendocino
County Museum for a display that reflects the responses from the whole county. The
MENDOCINO FLAVORS display debuted at the Museum on January 29, 2012 and will travel
to Mendocino County Fair in September, among other venues.
