The Museum is located in the heart of the county in the town of Willits, on a parkway that links the Skunk Depot, Frontier Days Rodeo Grounds, Recreation Grove, and the Willits Skate Park, as well as the Willits Library and Soccer Fields.
Co-located with the Museum is Roots of Motive Power, a volunteer organization that collects and restores historic steam-powered trains, engines, and logging machines. Stop by for a fascinating visit with a shipwreck, a "hippie" van, stagecoaches and steam engines, Pomo baskets and Seabiscuit. Then browse our Museum Shop and find information about additional things to do in Mendocino County. Mendocino County Museum
