The Mendocino County Museum collects, conserves and celebrates the stories, artifacts, archives, and lives of the people and places of Mendocino County.

Co-located with the Museum is Roots of Motive Power,
a volunteer organization that collects & restores steam-powered trains

and machines, focusing on logging history.

Stop by for a fascinating visit with a shipwreck, a "hippie" van, stagecoaches and steam engines, Pomo baskets and Seabiscuit's family and friends.

Browse our Museum Shop and discover even more to do in Mendocino County.

We're open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4:30 PM.
The first Wednesday of each month, admission is free!
